More and more car detailing services are discovering that ozone can do what sprays, chemicals, and scrubbing cannot.  The word about ozone generators for used cars, RVs, buses, taxis, and trucks is finally getting out.  The fact is that ozone is quite effective on car odors.  Ozone is a gas, but not just any gas.  It is a more concentrated form of oxygen.  The extra oxygen atoms will detach from the ozone leaving as it reverts to normal oxygen.  These singlete oxygen atoms oxidize many organic, bacterial, or fungal problems at the molecular level.  The science side is interesting, but the fact is that it works very well for turning a “Stinkmobile” into a sellable vehicle.

RV centers and cottage owners are turning to ozone machines to freshen the closed up and odd smells that happen when things are stored away.  

Using our 20G ozone generator, a typical ozone treatment is about an hour.  Tougher odors and larger spaces may take 3-4 hours.  You can repeat the process until the smells are gone.

While the odors are being eliminated, you are also killing virus, bacteria, and fungi in these applications.  Ozone will burn holes in the sensitive outer membrane of microbes so they die.  And, there is no chemical residue or hard scrubbing required other than normal cleaning.  The ozone odor will fade, but the odors will not come back.

When it comes to the very common problem of smoke odors, ozone is absolutely the best.  Sprays and chemical applications won’t do the job.  Ozone is particularly good on thin film type odors like you find in smoking and cooking odors.  The broad application of ozone allows ozone to reach every inch of the car, apartment, or RV to neutralize the smoke or cooking film.  

An ionizer is not the same process.  Ionizers use electric charges to attract particles out of the air.  This is helpful, but not nearly as effective.

Ozone generators are not a replacement for good cleaning.  An unclean car, house, or apartment will quickly see the return of bad smells.  Always prepare the vehicle with a good vacuuming and cleaning for best results.
