Getting rid of smoke in a car, house, apartment or hotel is not easy. The tar in smoke causes it to cling to every surface including walls, ceilings, and cabinets. It also easily embeds in carpet, furniture, and drapes. So, the task of removing the odor is nearly impossible short of a total rehab of the room or building. Smoke odors can be detected for ten years after the smoking has stopped. As a known carcinogen, cigarette smoke can continue doing damage for years.
Cleaning the walls with vinegar and putting on a coat of paint will lessen the problem; but as the paint dries, it will become porous again. That is why the smoke smell returns. The porous paint eventually allows the smoke smell to ooze out.

Shock level happens at about 6 PPM, and Maxblaster cannot raise a 1000 cu ft room about 4 PPM.
